RazzmaTag is a universal tagging utility that finds formatting in Microsoft Word and marks it with typesetting tags for use in such programs as QuarkXPress, Ventura, PageMaker, TeX, or pretty much anything else. As an extremely simple example, RazzmaTag can find text in italics and mark it with italic tags, like this: [I]italics[\I]. RazzmaTag can also do the reverse, finding tags and changing them to formatting, so if you have old proprietary typesetting files, you can now convert them to Microsoft Word documents. RazzmaTag can find and tag paragraph styles, character styles, and character formatting (such as italic and bold). It can also find and tag font, point size, and paragraph alignment, so if you're working on an unstyled document, you can use RazzmaTag to tag the existing formatting and then turn those tags into styles. RazzmaTag can also find and tag special characters. For example, you could have it replace em dashes with a typesetting code. RazzmaTag can do all of this in a single document, all open documents, or all documents in a folder. You can read the complete documentation by clicking here.

Download RazzmaTag for Microsoft Word 98, 2001, X, or 2004.
Sorry, but Word 2008 doesn't support macros or add-in programs. If you have a Macintosh and really need the most recent version of Word, you might consider running Windows and Word 2007 under Parallels Desktop.
After downloading the program file, open it and drag the individual files it contains out to your computer desktop. Then open and read the Instructions file.
